Seeking a queer refuge for the kind of hard-hitting techno he has fallen in love with, TS Julien founded the Brooklyn-based hard music collectives CHROMA RAVE and RAVE MACHINE in 2023.
A trans man and Italian-American born and raised in New Jersey- TS Julien’s musical roots stem from the underground queer hardcore scene in Brooklyn. He injects hardcore, trance, and eclectic genre-bending surprises into upbeat Berlin- and French-flavored industrial and acid hard techno sets, delivering door-slamming kicks alongside spine-tingling melodies to inspire a sense of passion and desperation, interluded by episodes of mindful respite. TS Julien's flow is as fresh as his picks: fast and commanding basslines of contemporary techno tracks assault the dance floor in tidal waves as giddy anticipation steadily builds and increases dancefloor pressure in the pursuit of total sonic frenzy, followed by breath-taking moments of contemplation.
